Why do relationships end after 3 months

After three months with someone, you begin to settle down. You begin to relax some. You let down your guard, you act more like who you really are. They do too — you learn who they are, day-in and day-out. You learn where they have moles on their legs, and birthmarks on their backs. After three months, you start to imitate their mannerisms, subconsciously — their laugh, their quirks of speech. You learn how they like to be touched, and kissed, and loved. You cook for each other, with each other.

After three months, you begin to have routines. You see each other on Saturday afternoons and Sundays. You sleep at her place two days a week. You wake up, get dressed, go to work together. You make dinner on Friday nights. Running on Thursdays.

You have different kisses for different situations. Long, passionate kisses, warm and wet and deep. Short pecks, silly kisses on the lips and cheeks. Kisses on the eyes and nose, and behind the ears and along the nape of your necks. Along the body and breasts and sides.

You talk about the future — where to meet tomorrow for lunch; what to cook for Sunday; dream homes and furniture; baby names. You joke about the future, and yet there are grains of truth in jest, and grains of hope that the future you imagine for you both may come to pass.I am in a relationship with a great guy.

Very soon we were saying we loved each other, could spend the rest of our lives together and wanted to live together. He says he loves me and cares for me. We have been spending most days together and alot of nights, Do you think it was too much too soon?

Can a relationship slow down and still survive? I do love him and can see him as my partner for the rest of my life.

I am having a hard time not being with him but I think our relationship needs some breathing room — not a break, just some room for ourselves and our own interests. Any advice? We will see how it goes? Not good enough for me. Maybe he wants it to come out right or something. But you have to keep talking about the relationship, just going along is pathetic especially if both of you are miserable.

He still tells me he loves me so I am confused. Maybe he does love me, but not as deeply as he thought at the beginning and maybe it will develop in the future?

Krazykat :: Pretty much. My point is that you need to talk about what is expected in the relationship. Are you exclusive or heavy petting partners. There is a difference. Love and dependence are two very different things. Or just get something better to do and keep yourself amused. Obviously, you have not been together very long and the initial excitement may have had you both hoping that this was the real deal and that the level of excitement would continue at a high level, but it has not.

And then we would just slowly not talk as much, to the point where she wouldn't call me and I would get anxious so I'd leave messages hoping she is ok.
